And believe me: after all these years on the island and countless evenings in small restaurants, I have found my own personal favorites – and I don’t want to withhold them from you.

1st El Cruce Restaurant

Located between Felanitx and Vilafranca – simple on the outside, full of flavor on the inside. Here you can enjoy authentic Mallorcan cuisine that is otherwise almost only found in the homes of locals. Arroz Brut (a hearty stew with meat, rice and spices), lechona (tender suckling pig), codornices (quails) – and to finish, a slice of gato con almendra, the famous Mallorcan almond cake. This is what home tastes like.

2nd Can March in Manacor

This is where tradition and conviviality meet. The tapas are to die for – from classic pambolis to aromatic arroz brut. Ideal for sampling the diversity of Mallorcan cuisine – preferably in good company with a glass of wine.

3. Ca’n Nusola in Felanitx

A little tapas paradise! Our favorite tip if you fancy a cozy meal in a relaxed atmosphere. I can particularly recommend the albóndigas (meatballs in a spicy sauce), mushrooms in garlic and boquerones – these small pickled anchovies are simply a dream.

4th Sa Torre behind Manacor

If you really want to try a lot, the buffet at Sa Torre is just the thing. A wide selection of traditional dishes, homemade and cooked with lots of love. You don’t just eat here – you enjoy it.

5th Es Molí d’en Bou (Sant Llorenç des Cardassar)

Tradition meets sophistication. Here, Mallorcan cuisine is interpreted in a modern way, but without losing its origins. Especially nice for a stylish dinner with a regional touch.

6th Es Verger (near Alaró)

Rustic, down-to-earth and legendary – especially for one thing: lamb from the wood-fired oven. The walk up to the restaurant (a bit of an adventure!) is worth it for the view alone – and of course for the food.

7th S’Hostal d’Esporles (Esporles)

A genuine village restaurant with warm hospitality and really good, honest cuisine. Be sure to try the frito mallorquín here – a dish that not everyone knows, but everyone learns to love.

8th Ca Na Toneta (Caimari)

A small, family-run restaurant with a lot of passion and sustainability. The ingredients come almost exclusively from the region – and you can taste it. Creative, traditional cuisine with soul.
