The Romans already knew in 123 BC that this hill was a very special place and laid the foundations for what is now considered the oldest town in Mallorca. Alcúdia even owes its name to this very hill: In Arabic times, the place was called Al-Qudya – which simply means “hill” in Arabic.

Particularly fascinating is the completely preserved city wall from the Middle Ages, which stretches around 1.5 kilometers around the old town. A walk on top of the wall is definitely worthwhile – the view over the roofs of the old town to the surrounding countryside is simply fantastic.
